Research Focus
The figure below highlights my recent research, which centres on leveraging technologies such as blockchain, identity and access control, and AI and machine learning to address challenges in data sharing, privacy, commercial-confidentiality, compliance, and smart contract engineering. I apply these approaches across domains including supply chains, digital/decentralised finance, ESG, and responsible AI. More recently, I have been expanding into emerging areas—such as agent identity and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for large language models, fully homomorphic encryption (FHE), zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP), secure multi-party computation (MPC), verifiable credentials (VCs), and decentralised identifiers (DIDs), with a strong focus on enhancing trust in software systems.
The diagram below summarises my research trajectory up to 2018, which focused on large-scale data generation, transmission, and processing. My work spanned data engineering, IoT, cloud and distributed computing, complex event processing, and data integration. Earlier, as a graduate researcher, I worked on peer-to-peer (P2P) systems, content discovery, sensor networks, virtual sensing, and secure communications.
Across these areas, my research has been grounded in understanding real-world systems (resources, applications, and user behaviour) and translating those insights into solutions that are efficient, scalable, secure, and practically deployable. I have particularly focused on interdisciplinary applications in domains such as weather forecasting, fleet management, and smart cities.
